Why does #BoysLockerRoom not shock me? Children are sponges. They absorb and reflect exactly what grown-ups do. Don’t get crazy angry at the boys. Work with them instead to help them see women as equals. Teach them to respect themselves and their peers. We need respectful conversations and to build understanding. At home and at school. The patriarchy and misogyny need to be weeded out carefully, steadily with empathetic actions. Perhaps #lockdown gives time and opportunity to do some reflection and have some conversations?
