Parched lands… Putting lives of children at risk

The Rajya Sabha declared 266 districts in 11 different states to be drought affected in their session last week; Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat are reeling under the fight for water and survival. Amidst these states are also a large number of children who have succumbed to adverse effects of the drought, that seldom make it to top news.
